Key Points for Safety Valve Installation and Piping Layout Design
1.Installation Location
Must be installed vertically and as close as possible to the protected equipment or pipeline.
If not feasible, the total pressure drop in the inlet piping must not exceed 3% of the set pressure. The main safety valve product names of China Safety Valve Network include:GA49H-DN20 Pulse Safety Valve,High Temperature and Pressure Fall Lift Safety Valve,Hydraulic Safety Valve,Impulse Safety Valve,Impulse Spring Safety Valve,JIS Safety Valve,Main Safety Valve,Overflow ValveOil Refining Specific Safety Valve,Pulse Safety Valve,Pilot Safety Valve,Pressure Safety Valve,Quick Switching Safety Valve,Spring Low Lift Safety Valve,Spring Low Lift High Pressure Safety Valve,Spring Low Lift Closed High Pressure Safety Valve,Spring Fall Lift Closed High Pressure Safety Valve
2.Maintenance and Lifting
A maintenance platform is recommended.
For heavy valves, provide lifting provisions (e.g., lifting lugs) for handling after removal.
3.Inlet Piping
Use long-radius elbows to minimize flow resistance.
4.Outlet Backpressure Control
Design outlet piping to limit backpressure.
For conventional spring-type safety valves, backpressure should not exceed 10% of the set pressure.
5.Discharge Media Handling
When discharging condensable vapors or liquids, the valve outlet must be above the header or have drainage provisions.
6.Discharge into Closed Systems
Outlet piping should connect at a 45° angle to the top of the discharge header (in flow direction) to prevent liquid backflow and reduce backpressure.
Isolation and Bypass Valves
Use single-disc gate valves for isolation, locked open and installed with the stem horizontal.
Bypass valves (if any) must be locked closed.
